I try to bake with my kids (girl 6, boy just 3) once a month or so – I love to make yummy things in the kitchen and it’s a nice thing to share, but I’ve still not really cracked how to stop it descending into chaos. The best times I find are when the kids aren’t too tired (and nor am I!), I have plenty of time, and I prepare everything first, but it all seems a bit ordered and well, frankly anal! Yet if I venture to start from scratch with them and get them to “Help” weigh out ingredients etc then I invariably end up covered in flour with egg on my face and trying hard not to be grumpy – not terribly fulfilling!
Any tips to share from other parents??!
