Ice Bucket Fraud!
The ALS Foundation admits that a whopping 73% of the donations are not used for ALS research!
What? We’ve been duped?
The ice bucket challenge has gone viral and the public and celebrities alike are taking to the challenge of drenching themselves with cold icy water. Well, some people are using ice, most aren’t.
The Ice bucket donations have topped £100m, so where is the money going?
Well, you’d assume towards ALS research right? WRONG!
Over 73% of all donations raised are going to fundraising, overhead, executive salaries, and external donations. Less than 27% is actually used for the purpose we donated for.
So we are donating for people sat in chairs to drive big cars?!
According to a charitable watchdog, the 27% of donations making it to the cause they are donated to is totally unacceptable. In fact, the ECFA (a charitable watchdog) won’t deem a non-profit as a reliable charity unless at least 80% of donations make it to their intended projects.
Here’s an image of who is eating the pie…
