There’s are hundreds of options out there for baby wipes so I wanted to share a few I’ve used and what by far is my favourite. I haven’t included disposable wipes, since I’ve never used them.

I’ve tried a wide variety of wipes from well-known brands to store brands and from various price points.

By the way, I want to mention that this isn’t a paid article or advertisement. The baby wipe brands I’ve mentioned, are because I have either used or are currently using them on my own baby.

Which Baby Wipes Are Best For Baby?

Water Wipes

Rating: 5/5

Reasons why:

  • The wipes are really thick and moist
  • You don’t need many wipes for the job
  • They’re soft so they don’t rub
  • Chemical free and 100% natural

These are by far my favourite and they’re amazing to use. Even if you are faced with a dreaded poop explosion, they’re still the best wipes for the job. Because they are so thick and moist you can get rid of everything pretty swiftly. My baby has very rarely had nappy rash and even when she did it was mild. I think the wipes have helped with this. It’s a great replacement for when it’s not practical to have a top and tail bowl with cotton balls.

I pay between £2.00 and £2.50 per pack, making them one of the more expensive baby wipes on the market. However, because you use less wipes per change it doesn’t work out that bad at all.

Mamia Sensitive Baby Wipes

Rating: 3/5

Reasons why:

  • They’re the best cheap baby wipes
  • Thin and not very moist

Because the wipes are thinner and dryer, they need more. I also found myself rubbing babys bum more to get rid of poop. The price is great but I did use a lot more and for poop explosions I was going through at least 10 wipes. The packets would finish so quickly which was annoying.

Johnsons Extra Sensitive Baby Wipes

Rating: 2/5

Reasons why:

  • Chemicals
  • Wipes are small and thin
  • Dry out quickly

I got these free when I had my baby in hospital. I tried them a few months later when we were out and about. I think the smell of them is the most off putting thing, it makes you think of chemicals. Again they just aren’t as thick, soft or moist as Water Wipes.

Johnsons Gentle All Over Baby Wipes

Rating: 2/5

Reasons why:

  • Chemicals
  • Wipes are small and thin
  • Dry out quickly

I received a free pack of these wipes through the post and thought I’d give them a go. But again, i think the most off putting thing was the smell and large amount of chemicals in the wipes. Not something I want to use on such a sensitive part of my baby.

Co-Op Loved By Us Ultra Soft Baby Wipes

Rating: 1/5

Reasons why:

  • Wipes free rough
  • small and thin
  • Not very moisturising

I tried these wipes when there was no other option. I had run out of my usual water wipes and the only store around was a Co-Op. The only good thing about these wipes is that, there’s always a Co-Op around so there’s a convenience factor. But when it comes to the wipe itself, it was terrible and they smelt extremely chemically. Next time, I think I would prefer to use cotton wool and water. The wipes are better than nothing, only just.
