My daughter used to attend nursery 5 days a week full time and when she did, she loved it – would toddle off, give me a kiss goodbye and that was it. I’ve since started working for myself and she only goes once a week for a full day now, but when I drop her off she cries and doesn’t want to let go. I know she is fine five minutes after I’ve left but it doesn’t stop me feeling guilty and upset for leaving her and thinking am I doing the right thing? I wanted to keep her in one day a week just to interact with children and at least have one day in a nursery setting but I’m worried she’s not happy anymore?

She will settle down. My son screams hysterically when I take him to his childminder (who he loves) but he stops the minute I walk out of the door. If you’re worried talk to the nursery but I’m sure she is just a little confused about the change šŸ™‚

My son is just the same. He goes to a nursery once a week, and always tells me he doesn’t want to go, and cries when I leave. If I stand outside the door I can hear that he stops within a minute or two, and the carers say he’s happy as larry until I pick him up again. I hate how it makes me feel, but I know the socialization is so important for him. I’m sure your daughter will be just fine. She just loves being around you and this is her way of telling you that šŸ™‚
