Ideas for Valentines Day

Written by: theworkingparent
This is a lovely time of the year for couples, especially when you have a family. It’s nice to focus and enjoy your relationship. That being said, this is an occasion which is highly commercialised and all in the name of getting your money. The whole point of Valentine’s Day is to cherish your loved one, so no matter your budget, keep that in mind.
I’ve looked into hundreds of ideas online to bring you the best selection for working parents.
Ideas for her
Flowers
This is a classic which will never get old and will be forever loved. I suggest going for red roses, nothing says romance more. You can go all out or you can keep it beautifully simple with a bunch of 12 red roses for £2 from Aldi.Â
Perfume is always welcome, since it’s Valentine’s day, go for something sweet and light.
Ideas for him
Something personalised is always a good idea and will always be appreciated. Not on the high street, online store is great for this stuff.Â
Chocolates, men love chocolate too!
Aftershave and toiletries are a classic, hopefully he doesn’t have everything in existence after Christmas.
Ideas for togetherness
Eating Out
This is always fun, no cooking, yes please! There are some great deals out there like 2 for 1 or 2 courses for £20. So just because you don’t have an endless budget doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a romantic meal out.
Here are a few suggestions
- Prezzo: 2 courses for £16.95 or 3 courses for £20
- Carluccios: 3 courses £22.95
- Taste card: this is a discount card with hundreds or partners offering discounts UK wide to its members
- Voucher sites: Check Groupon and Wowcher for some great deals
Eating In
If you’ve got children and no night off then this is the best option. Tire your little monkeys out, then get them to bed early so you have some time to enjoy the evening.
M&S and Waitrose do some incredible dine in for 2 selections (£20), the best in my option. Also since, it’s ready made, you won’t waste any time cooking, allowing you to enjoy more of your evening.Â
Netfix and Chill
After you’ve had your dine in for 2 dinner, get a good movie or series on and …chill! Pop open the bottle you got in your dine in offer too.
