I would hazard a guess and say most of us will wash our jeans pretty frequently. I mean, well after every wear or two is pretty much standard. Fashion designer and parent Tommy Hilfiger revealed last night that he doesn’t ever wash his jeans!
Tommy Hilfiger, aged 62 years young, told a TMZ reporter that he never washes his jeans as he was leaving a Los Angeles restaurant.
‘‘I never wash my Levi’s. They’ll fall apart. I love them broken in.”
Tommy went on to say that he believes it’s ‘crazy’ to wash jeans after every wear.
“That’s crazy. In my real life I wear a T Shirt, grey or white, same pair of jeans. Literally, the same pair of jeans every day. They have these jeans you don’t have to wash now…They mean like six months, I think, “he said.
What do the jeans manufacturers say?
Levis Strauss, known worldwide for their Levi’s brand of denim jeans actually do recommend that their customers shouldn’t wash jeans too often. They also have a theory that their jeans should be placed inside the freezer instead, that way all germs will be killed!
Hmm I think I’ll continue to wash mine often so they smell nice, I’ll take the risk of them falling apart none too seriously….
